Bio

 Dr. Andreea Tamaian is a registered psychologist in Ontario who provides comprehensive risk assessments for individuals involved in legal proceedings related to sexual and violent offences.


With experience in both correctional and forensic psychiatric settings – including the Correctional Service of Canada and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre – Dr. Tamaian has worked extensively with justice-involved adults. She has expertise in providing psychodiagnostic and personality assessments, as well as assessing risk for criminal recidivism and malingering of mental health symptoms.


Her practice is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed principles and shaped by years of experience at the intersection of mental health and the law. She is committed to ongoing professional development to remain aligned with evolving research and best practices.


Dr. Tamaian earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Regina in 2019. Her doctoral research explored the impact of systemic failures on trauma, examining how institutions’ inability to protect individuals can compound psychological distress. Dr. Tamaian is fluent in English and Romanian.
