Bio

Dr. Christine Rose offers evidence-based assessment and treatment for a range of mental health concerns, with particular expertise in supporting individuals who are justice-involved. Her clinical experience includes work with personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

Dr. Rose has extensive experience conducting forensic and correctional assessments. Her expertise includes risk assessment for general, violent, and sexual recidivism, differential diagnosis, psychopathy, and assessments related to malingering and symptom validity. She provides consultation on legal matters such as fitness to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and risk management. Dr. Rose also assists lawyers by reviewing and critiquing expert reports, identifying the strengths and limitations of existing evaluations, and offering evidence-based input on psychological aspects of legal cases.

Dr. Rose has a special interest in working with individuals who are emotionally overcontrolled and seeking to increase their capacity for emotional expression, flexibility, and deeper interpersonal connection. She brings a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy and aims to foster a collaborative environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Her integrative approach draws on Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and includes training in evidence-based trauma therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

Dr. Rose is registered for autonomous practice with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) in both Clinical and Forensic/Correctional Psychology with adult populations. She earned her B.Sc. in Psychology and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Her training included placements in a provincial jail, a federal penitentiary, a forensic hospital, an acute care hospital, and a community mental health clinic. She completed her residency in the Forensics Program at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences.

Before transitioning to private practice, Dr. Rose worked in the Forensic Mental Health Program at Providence Care Hospital, providing both inpatient treatment and assessment services. She previously served as a psychologist with Correctional Service Canada, delivering care in maximum and medium security institutions, as well as at the Regional Treatment Centre—a specialized psychiatric facility for federally incarcerated individuals.
