Ms. Holt is a seasoned Registered Psychotherapist with over 26 years of experience working with individuals and couples navigating challenges such as trauma, mental health concerns, relationship difficulties, and anger management. Her compassionate approach fosters growth and healing for clients from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous populations, where she addresses culturally relevant issues with sensitivity and respect.
Ms. Holt has a strong history of supporting first responders, understanding the unique pressures they face, and tailoring therapy to meet their specific needs. She brings a wealth of experience to helping clients build healthier relationships, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal resilience.
Throughout her career, Ms. Holt has guided clients in creating positive life changes, particularly for those addressing harmful relationship patterns, intimate partner violence or sexual offending. She works collaboratively with individuals and couples on safety planning and navigating complex emotional dynamics. Ms. Holt also provides counseling for spouses impacted by their partner’s sexual offending, empowering them to make informed decisions about their relationships and children.
To best serve her clients, Ms. Holt utilizes an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), person-centered therapy, and Motivational Interviewing Techniques. Her dedication to professional growth ensures she remains current with effective practices.
Ms. Holt is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and holds certification as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is also an active member of the Association for the Treatment & Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA).
Outside of her practice, Ms. Holt enjoys outdoor activities, including running with her dog—having completed nine marathons to date. She also finds peace in gardening, camping, hiking, and traveling with her family.
