Kerri Mozessohn

B.A., B.Sc.
Therapist

Kerri provides low-cost therapeutic support to adults experiencing a wide range of mental health and behavioural concerns, with a specific focus on supporting individuals involved with the justice system, including those navigating legal consequences, court-mandated expectations, or concerns related to sexual thoughts or behaviours. Their areas of experence include substance use, anger difficulties, anxiety, low mood, insomnia, and neurodevelopmental concerns. In addition, Kerri supports clients exploring questions around sexual and gender identity, offering a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space to process their experiences.

Kerri’s practice includes both general mental health concerns and more specialized forensic challenges. They have a particular interest in helping clients reduce impact of problematic substance use, manage justice-involvement, and strengthen emotional and behavioural regulation skills, while building coping strategies that support long-term well-being. They also provide supportive care for individuals with concerns related to sexual health, intimate partner violence, behavioural risk, and atypical sexual interests. Across all areas of practice, Kerri strives to meet clients where they are and work collaboratively toward meaningful change.

On a Personal Note

I don’t know how to swim, but one of my favourite activities is being out on the water, kayaking or canoeing in the backcountry.

Kerri is a doctoral clinical psychology practicum student completing their training through Memorial University’s clinical psychology program. They are working under the supervision of Dr. Brian Pauls, a Registered Psychologist with expertise in supporting justice-involved individuals.

Kerri has experience supporting adults with a broad range of concerns, including substance use, anger, anxiety, low mood, insomnia, sexual and gender identity exploration, neurodevelopmental challenges, and justice-related issues. They are trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) across a wide range of presenting concerns including CBT for insomnia (CBT-I). They also have training in psychosexual therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, gender-affirming care, and has worked extensively with clients experiencing complex mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use.

Kerri integrates evidence-based modalities with a collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach. They are committed to meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to each person’s needs, goals, and lived experiences. They currently offer low-cost virtual clinical services throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
