At Guidepoint Clinic, we provide court-ordered and court-mandated therapy and counselling for adults across Ontario and Newfoundland — whether you’re facing pending charges, immigration challenges, a conviction, or meeting probation or parole conditions.

Is Therapy For Individuals With Legal Involvement Right For Me?
Facing legal consequences or involvement with the justice system can be stressful and life-changing. Therapy provides an opportunity to understand the factors that contributed to these circumstances, address the consequences, and develop healthier ways of living.
Court, Probation, Parole
Therapy or counselling may be a condition of probation, parole, or part of meeting court expectations. We provide structured, evidence-based support to help you meet these obligations.
Managing Stress
Legal issues often bring anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. Therapy helps you cope with the stress of navigating the system.
Underlying Issues
Substance use, relationship difficulties, emotion management or other struggles may have played a role in legal involvement. Therapy helps address root causes to reduce future risk.
Planning for the Future
Therapy supports you in building healthier patterns, so you can move forward with greater stability and confidence.
“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

Is There Reduced-Cost Therapy or Counselling for Adults With Legal Involvement in Ontario or Newfoundland?
Yes — for Ontario residents. Guidepoint Clinic offers reduced-cost court-ordered and court-mandated therapy for adults with legal involvement in Ontario through our supervised associate program. Clients in Newfoundland are welcome to contact us to discuss available options.
Reduced-cost services are provided by qualified therapists working under the clinical supervision of experienced registered psychologists. All treatment follows the same structured, ethical, and evidence-informed approach as our standard services.

The reduced-cost therapy program is designed for individuals who are required to participate in counselling due to court involvement, probation or parole conditions, child protection matters, or other legal circumstances — and who may face financial barriers to accessing care.

All sessions at Guidepoint Clinic are offered virtually, making therapy more accessible for individuals managing transportation barriers, work schedules, or legal obligations.
The Types of Legal Situations We Work With
Court requirements come in many forms. Whatever brought you here, our clinicians provide confidential, evidence-based virtual therapy across Ontario and Newfoundland, and can supply the documentation the court or your probation or parole officer needs. Common situations we support include:
Court-Ordered Anger Management Therapy
If a judge or probation officer has asked you to complete anger management, we offer virtual sessions that satisfy that requirement while helping you understand the triggers behind the behaviour. You’ll work one-on-one with a clinician at your own pace, with attendance and participation summaries provided when they’re needed.
Therapy for Intimate Partner Violence & Domestic Charges
For adults facing charges related to intimate partner violence or domestic conflict, therapy offers a private space to look honestly at patterns and build healthier ways of relating. We approach this work without judgment, at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Substance Use & Addiction-Related Court Conditions
When substance use has played a role in a charge, or addressing it is part of your probation or parole conditions, our clinicians help you work through it alongside the stressors connected to it. Sessions are virtual and confidential, which makes it easier to stay consistent while you meet your obligations.
Sexual Offence Charges — Confidential Treatment
We provide discreet, nonjudgmental sexual offence treatment for adults who have been charged with or convicted of a sexual offence. This is specialized, structured work, and we can coordinate documentation with the court or your legal team when appropriate.
Gambling-Related Legal Issues
Legal difficulties tied to gambling often have roots worth exploring in therapy rather than facing alone. We help you understand the patterns involved and work toward steadier footing.
